Its Sexual Assault Awareness month! Teal is the color for sexual assault, so if you are local and see the capitol's fence lined with teal ribbon it is for sexual assault. There were 2 of us that tied the ribbons up on April 1st at 7 am. It took us almost 2 hours, our hands & feet were froze by the time we finished. We were unable to get the library display for this month, so we had it last month. This was the finished product.
In 2007 there were 248,300 victims of rape, attempted rape and sexual assault. That number does not include victims 12 and younger.
15% of victims are 12 and under.
