Lots of Deer

Today I was driving around taking a few pics for my class when I came across a herd of deer. They were in someone's front yard right next to the road. In the second picture you can see how close they were to the actual road.

Happy Easter!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter today. The girls got up this morning & went through the baskets before I got up including Kody's basket. They didn't even put his plastic eggs back together, I was unhappy with them & not the way I wanted to start the day off. I got them all ready, hair curled etc. took some quick pictures before I had to make Strawberry Trifle & deviled eggs to take out to my parents. We ate dinner at their house as well as some friends of theirs. My mom had styrofoam bunnies to mark off each of the kids "areas" to hunt for their goodies. They had a good time & dinner was yummy!

Nevada Regional Science Fair

Yesterday Kelsi went to Reno for the Regional Science Fair, it took place at Lawlor Events Center. She caught the bus at her school at 9 am & spent the day with other kids from the local schools up at the fair then the school bought the kids Pizza. After she made it back home we went up there with her & my parents went as well to check out all the projects. We were not aware that McKena's class project also went up there. Her class won 1st place!

S.A.R.A. :o)

I'm the new SARA Asst. in the Carson City office! I applied for the job a few weeks back & interviewed this week. I got the job! I'm really excited about it! Its part time & the hours will work perfect for everyone. I'll still be able to volunteer in McKena's class as well as not have a conflicting schedule with the softball practices/games. The pay is great so it almost makes up for it only being part time. My job will be assisting the coodinator of the program as well as taking victims to the hospital for their exam, court proceedings, support groups etc. I think the hardest part of this job which I didn't think of before the interview till it was brought up by them.. is having 3 girls of my own when I have to take a young girl that has been raped to get an exam. That could be on the difficult side. They said they have about 30 rapes a year in Carson City area.. that did actually shock me. I didn't think it was that big of a problem. I think this will be an awarding job for me & perfect for my entrance back into the work world. :o) To those of you that knew I was hoping to land this job.. Thanks for all the thoughts & prayers!!

Timmy & Randi's Services

Today we attended services for friends family that were murdered on March 1. Timmy & Randi were both killed & their 7 month old daughter kidnapped. The baby was found safe & is now in the care of family members. They had a joint service at the local high school then a burial for Timmy with full Military honors, his wife Randi was burried back east where her family resides. Then a reception followed, my dad watched the kids with exception of Kelsi. We were gone about 6 hrs.

Busy Weekend..

Friday night after school I took the kids to the public library to each pick out a book. That took some time and for some reason Kelsi just couldn't decide what to get, finally she grabbed something. We came home had dinner & I cleaned some more. Saturday I spent most of the day cleaning & trying to get the girls to finish cleaning their room. I had a friend over for dinner, visit was short but nice. Then came the time change... on the worst day it could have! lol Kelsi had softball preveiws at 10 am (mind you I didn't make it to bed till 1am) Have to back up a minute there.. Friday one of our small fish went missing so after a day I decided before going to bed Sat. night to take the whole filter system apart to see if it had gotten sucked up in the filter. I found our fish in the filter completely bent in half. Poor little guy! So that would be why I was up so late.. Back to Sunday.... my parents came over to watch the other kids while I took Kelsi to softball preview. We were there almost 2 hrs she had to field, play first base & bat. She signed up to be a pitcher but didn't preview for it as she slightly sprained her wrist batting.. or we would have been there longer! We headed home only to realize 10 mins. later that we had an hour to be at Kelsi's friends bday party & we still had to run to Carson (20 mins away) to get a present! So we rushed up there got the present in record time.. hahaa.. Made it to our party on time!! Only for the actual bday girl to be 15 mins. late. lol Kelsi was there for 2 hrs it was at a Cheer/tumbling place so she had lots of fun. A few hours after picking her up Ben got home! He had a good time.. :o) Believe it or not.. I took NO pictures all weekend. I do believe that is a first for me! lol

My German Soldier

Ben got involved with one of McKena's friends dad to do WWII reenactments. So this weekend is his very first one. He left at 0530 to head down to Camp Roberts in CA for the weekend, he'll be back late Sunday night. Its about 7 or so hours from here so they'll get down there after lunch & get settled in the barracks etc. Basically he will be playing war all weekend, should be interesting! I sent him with my old camera so I hope he gets some cool pics to share when he comes back. They are playing German soldiers & Ben is excited about it he says he already got to play the American Soldier so wanted to change it up a bit... lol Since we have visited so many historical war sites while we lived in Germany it def. has more value to him then it would to some other people.
