Rib Cookoff

Today we went to Sparks for the Rib Cookoff! This was one of the few things I actually missed about the states while we were gone. I LOVE the Ribs! We ate at 3 different places 2 were really good, the other was ok & they didn't even cut them. It was hot ( I can't WAIT for fall & winter!) we met up with Grandpa, Joanne, Kyle & Pacey. The kids went on rides in the kids section & had fun. I think we spent just as much money on the yummy lemonade as we did ribs.

Fisher Price Party!!!

I am SOO excited about this, I don't believe I have shared this here about being selected as a host for this. A few months back I applied at House Party to be selected as a Host for this Fisher Price party. What happens is on a selected weekend houses across the nation get together for a "playdate" party. I had to invite babies between the ages of 6-36 months. I was supplied with the newest big toys that they are coming out with this holiday season for the playdate. Each baby also gets a "party favor" toy to take home. Since we get to keep the stuff I have decided to do a drawing at the end of the party & the lucky winner will get to take home 1 of the big items as well. The others we are storing away for Kody for Xmas. Call me cheap but the kid will not need any other toys! Plus with 3 other kids I can def. use the break in my wallet on some things for him. Next Sat. is the play date at my house! Afterwards I have to post pics, & write about our party on the national playdate blog. I think its going to be a blast for everyone! The past 2 days we have received our items for the playdate, here is a picture of it all.

Healing Update..

I decided to go back to work this past Monday as I also had my classes at the college starting the same day. That was a VERY long day.. but by yesterday I was starting to feel better. I made it through the week even though I went back after only missing 3 days. I am still having some pain as I quit taking the pain meds Sunday since I can't drive with them. I can walk around much better then I was at the beg. of the week! The bruising is finally starting to go away to!! YAY! I really hope I never ever have to go through another surgery in my life. That sucked! :o) Here is a nasty picture of the bruise I developed. This was taken on day 5. The tape at the top of the picture is the incision at my belly button, I also had 2 more incisions at the bottom of the bruise.

Last Sat. we went to Sacramento for Kyle's 18th Birthday/Graduation party. The girls loved playing in the pool even though we went through a few plastic bags on Kelsi's cast as they kept springing leaks. It was HOT down there & made me realize it was ok to miss the State Fair. :o)

Not a good week here...

This past Weds. the 20th was back to school day for the older 2 girls. This year I missed out but thankfully my parents live close & Grandma was able to take them while Papa watched the younger 2. Where were Ben & I?? I drove myself to the ER at 5 am (didn't want to wake the girls since school was starting) I had abdominal pain that started the day before & kept getting worse. My mom called in to work & got to the ER an hr or so after I did. She stayed with me till it was time for the girls to go to school then Ben came over to stay with me. They did an ultrasound & labs which showed I had an enlarged liver & my liver enzymes were elevated. They wanted to do a CT scan to get more information on my liver. They brought me 2 bottles of contrast to drink in 2 hrs. By the end of the 2 hrs I only had 3/4 of 1 bottle drank & didn't really keep it down. They took me anyways (Thank god!) They did 2 scans & then gave me the inject able dye & took 2 more scans. Since around 6 am when they gave me the pain meds I was dizzy to the point of keeping my eyes shut most of the time. I also was nauseous, they gave me meds for that which made me more dizzy & makes my jaw chatter uncontrollably. So I was basically miserable and it didn't even take the pain away. After a little bit they got the results of the CT scan.. Appendicitis! Not what I wanted to hear, I even told the Dr.. nope.. sorry I don't have time for that. :o) In which he answered well you'll be in surgery within the hour. I went into surgery around 1 pm, came out sometime after 2.. woke up around 2:30 & they sent me HOME at 3 pm. Yes.. you read that right I was only awake for 20-30 mins. before they sent me on my way. I seriously could not see straight still & was dizzy & sick feeling. They did the laprascopic so I have 3 incisions. Sometime went by after I was home & we headed back to the ER I could not urinate at all. The pressure from my bladder was so painful I could barely breathe & my 1 incision started bleeding. They put a catheter in me, changed my gauze & sent me home. Told me I would be fine soon if not to come back. Well the next morning we went back! I still could not go & the incision was bleeding again from the pressure from my bladder. They drained me again but let me stay a few hours this time which was nice not having that pressure start building up again. They sent me home & we almost made a 3rd trip in but I was finally able to go a little bit. This morning I had a post op appt & am starting to feel much better. This afternoon I got a surprise flower delivery from my work. They are soo beautiful & totally me! I love cat tails & gladiolas!

We had plans this weekend for Kyle's grad/bday party & the CA state fair.. we still are going to the party but may be holding off on the fair. Monday I plan on going back to work & classes start for me.

11 years!

The 16th was Ben & mines 11 year anniversary! My parents watched the kids & we went to a steak & seafood buffet at the Peppermill in Reno. It was soo yummy! Ben got me this mickey mouse ears necklace that I LOVE!! We gambled for a few mins after dinner & I won over $100 on the penny machine!! I couldn't believe it, I never win! So that paid for dinner. :o)

Vintage Celebration

Today was a Vintage Celebration out at Bodie, CA. We headed out there this morning & boy was it packed! The line of cars coming into the place didn't stop the whole time we were there. They had booths set up for the kids to play games, face painting, food, artwork, old tyme photos, a parade. Was a hot day.. on the way home we stopped at Jolly Kone to have ice cream. Also saw a bear cub that had been hit by a car earlier in the day.

Hot August Nights

Its that time of year when we head out to Hot August nights.. We spent Friday night up in Reno, hung out with Jay, Monica & Austin. Jay had his car out that night, that was fun! Saturday we headed back to Reno, went to Sparks to see cars & watch some of the cruise before we headed out to the Fernley raceway to watch the Drag races.

Friday Kelsi got her cast on she picked out a nice bright color.. lol Looks like she will have it on for 4 weeks. She will be starting school with it & is going to have to learn to write left handed or legible enough with the broken one.

Never a Dull Moment...

Tonight Kelsi was riding her scooter & fell off..... Breaking her arm. Right now she is in a splint & in 2 days will be in a cast. Nothing like breaking the arm you write with a few weeks before school starts! :o) At least its not softball season!

GE Company Picnic

Today was my mom's company picnic, we were there almost 5 hrs. The kids had lots of fun & won lots of prizes. They had tons of food, drinks, cotton candy, churros, ice cream, sno cones, games, bounce houses, waterslides, obstacle course, bands, bingo, I'm sure I'm missing a few things as well.
