A Little Firecracker...

Yesterday Ryker was born @ 7 lbs. 14 oz. !! Today I went & visited baby & mommy in the hospital. He is soo cute & tiny! :o)

My Fourth Failure...

So we had a nice day yesterday on the 4th. We had a few friends over and BBQ'd of course I took a few pictures of Jaelyn & that was def. all I could get out of her. She wasn't a happy camper yesterday for sure. In the evening we headed up to Tahoe for fireworks. We all hiked out to the beach, set up in the dark (we got there shortly before the fireworks started). I was setting up my camera on the tripod & thought it was secure... I let go & it fell off.. into the sandy dirt. After that I could not get it to work. So after trying to mess with it for a few & only being able to see it with a flashlight I decided to put it away since I couldn't get it to work. :o( During the fireworks.. all I saw was great pictue opportunities that I could not take! lol After we packed up literally in the pitch black.. headed back to the car. I messed with it in the car & found out it was the lens not the camera.. so that is good. Bummed since I didn't get any pictures of us or of the fireworks.

Quarter... Quarter.. Where did you go?

A few days ago while we were all getting ready for bed, Kati came running in our room with a panic face, & holding her throat. She tells us she swallowed a quarter! We never did get out of here why it was in her mouth to begin with. After she calmed down from being scared, she was fine. We never did go to the Dr. or anything .. So a few days go by.. she has been fine, then late tonight she starts saying her stomach hurts & has the little panic look on her face. Ben took her to the ER where she got X-Rays. This is what they saw...

The quarter should be out soon... & her pain was from the huge outlined liver looking shape.. its a gas bubble. This would be our first time having money swallowed, which apparently is good seeing how we've been doing the parent thing for 9 yrs & 4 kids later.. :o)

Bike Ride...

Tonight the girls & Ben went for a bike ride & Kody & I followed.

Today we went to Bodie, CA. for those of you not familiar with it.. its a Ghost Town. Its not far from us & we have never taken the kids out there. They had fun looking at the old stuff & through the windows of the houses & buildings. Of course it wouldn't have been an "adventure" without a McKena ordeal! lol We had just lectured them on messing around old stuff etc, when she decides to climb on some old wooden posts & rusted barbed wire. She falls on it & has some nice cuts on her leg & finger. By the time we got home.. hours later the cuts on her leg are red & looking infected. At least her last tetanus shot was 2 yrs ago so she should be good with that. Ugghh.. that child! Then we had some little nat looking bugs that were everywhere, about half way through our time there we discovered they were attracted to Kody.. his poor little head is covered in red dots, they were blood sucking bugs.. & NO they were not mosquitoes. We have no idea what they were & hoping they were not carrying any diseases. By the end all of us had "bites". After we left Bodie, we stopped at a trail on Mono Lake to take some pictures of the Lime Tufas. :o) Of course I took tons of pictures (322) so here are some of them.
